Discuss the effects of anti aging treatments with Dr Vella

WHAT IS OUR PERCEPTION OF AGEING?

As we age we accumulate features which tell our own personal story. It’s a story we feel is worth embracing. However, many of us feel that due to life forces outside of our control, these changes sometimes occur at a rate faster than we’d like. In much the same way that we enhance our appearance with make-up, a new hair colour and hairstyle or even a new outfit fit, we sometimes ask ourselves what else we can achieve.

The process of ageing is a complex one. It occurs at different levels. Changes include thinning of the skeletal structure of our face, loss of muscle and fatty tissues as well as pigmentation, thinning and reduction of elasticity of our skin.

WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT THESE CHANGES?

Several treatment approaches exist and each one of them requires special consideration as we are all unique both in appearance and in our desire to change.

Treatments are tailored to individual goals, and your medical practitioner will conduct a consultation to determine the most appropriate approach for you.

Cosmetic injections can cause a range of side effects, most of which are mild and temporary. Common effects include redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, or small lumps at the injection site, usually resolving within a few days. Some people may experience headaches, mild flu-like symptoms, or temporary muscle weakness. Some procedures may occasionally lead to asymmetry, firmness under the skin, or delayed swelling. Rare but serious complication such as infection, allergic reactions, or accidental injection into a blood vessel can occur and may require medical attention

SAFETY FIRST

An ethical approach to this aspect of medicine is essential for both the physical and emotional safety of our patients and clients. Each new patient is given a brief series of questions to exclude Body Dysmorphic Disorder and is offered a cooling off period to allow them time to consider their options.

Please remember, these are elective and non-essential procedures. Safety is our first consideration and every step along your journey is entirely focused on this.

Dr. Vella consults at locations on the Central Coast and in Sydney.
